From Paper to Cake!

This cake was so much fun to make.  I was so excited when the bride asked me if I would make her cake.  When we had our first cake meeting, she handed me a picture that her and her fiancé drew.  I looked at it and knew that this cake was going to be fun to make.
What I did was start with a round cake and covered it in white fondant. Then I took a deep aqua blue ribbon and placed it in the middle of the tier. I then took black frosting and drew swirls on the bottom half of the tier.  I did this for all three tiers. Then once at the reception, I stacked the cakes and then placed roses, daisies, and baby’s breath down the side of the cake.  For the finishing touches I added a Royal Icing plaque that added the bride and grooms initials on it.  This gave the cake a very personal touch, by the bride and groom.

I loved making this cake! It was so much fun! I loved how it challenged me in a way that I had not been challenged before. And everybody knows how I like a challenge! J
